SYNOPSIS
Chasing the hottest story of 1915—Did Butch Cassidy fake his death?—journalist Florence Kilpatric tracks down Etta Place, paramour to the notorious outlaw’s sidekick The Sundance Kid, to a mountain cabin, and strikes a bargain for a scoop.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
ETTA PLACE (Female presenting character, 30-40 years)—Once a school teacher, later a bandit; always a “friend” of Wild West legends Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. Some 9 years after their highly-publicized deaths, she keeps a low public profile and a closely-guarded secret. Note: must be comfortable handling a prop gun (non-firing) onstage.

CLARA (Female presenting character, 25+ years)—Etta’s cousin, a crusty pioneer type. Lives in a remote mountain cabin. Has a low tolerance for: strangers, bad grammar, Etta’s checkered past, and her cousin’s current, furtive ways.

FLORENCE KILPATRIC (Female presenting character, 25+ years)—A Philadelphia newspaper woman with a sentimental streak. A bloodhound of a journalist who is willing to run, climb, and negotiate to get a story— she’d have to be, in order to be successful in her chosen, male-dominated profession.
